At the start of 2015, I decided that this would be the year we started to ‘create’ in a language that independent designers and retailers, and design-lovers – our audience – REALLY understood.
Recently I went to a presentation put on by Peppermint Magazine called How To Pitch Your Brand To A Magazine.
It’s not Urban Outfitters or Typo or H&M. It’s someone you know well: a creative and clever wolf dressed in independently-designed sheepskin clothing, and you probably emailed them just yesterday.
If you own any recent Jamie Oliver cookbooks (I own three!), you’ll know Jamie’s always banging on about buying the best quality ingredients you can afford.
I have a weakness for papercut artwork and bold colour, so I was absolutely floored when I stumbled across this work by Marine Coutroutsios on Art Pharmacy. There’s something about the interpretation of a bird as a roundel which is so magnetic – perhaps it’s the resemblance to a target.
When I look back at the person who started the journey to build this website, 2 and a half years ago I can’t help but shake my head and sigh. Oh, the naivety!
I did a double take when Belynda Henry was profiled on The Design Files but I fell well and truly when ‘Lemon Tree’ appeared over on the Adore Home Magazine blog. Loving those feathery mountains. And the colours! There’s something about that bloody red.
